2024 Michigan Governor’s Cup Results
The Michigan Wine Collaborative (MWC) is excited to announce the official Michigan Governor’s Cup results from the most recent statewide wine competition, the 2024 Michigan Governor’s Cup, a partnership with the Beverage Testing Institute (BTI). BTI, headquartered in Chicago, establishes and advocates for the highest standards in the beverage industry.
The Michigan Governor’s Cup winner for 2024 is Verterra Winery of the Leelanau Peninsula with their 2023 Rosé. This wine ranked the highest out of 186 entries from 35 wineries submitted to the competition.
The following wineries received ‘Best of Category’ recognition for:
Vinifera Red: St. Julian Braganini Reserve 2021 Cabernet Franc (Gold Medal)
Vinifera White: Laurentide 2022 Estate Sauvignon Blanc (Gold Medal)
Hybrid White: Cherry Creek Cellars 2023 Vignoles (Gold Medal)
Sparkling: MAWBY Blanc Brut (Gold Medal)
Sweet: St. Julian Braganini Reserve 2023 Harvest Select Vignoles (Gold Medal)
Fortified: White Pine 2021 Mirage Reserve Sweet Red Dessert Wine (Gold Medal)
Fruit: Gwin Girls Winery Rita’s Raspisa Raspberry Wine (Gold Medal)
