The Michigan Wine Collaborative annual meeting was a huge success! Our thanks to all of the folks at MSU Extension and the Grand Traverse Fruit Council for helping to organize, advertise and Zoom the meeting to a group of nearly 50 participants. It was really apparent from our presentation that the MWC has been busy! Even in the face of COVID our amazing Board and Committees came up with great ideas for ways to help the Michigan Wine and Wine Grape industries in many ways. Check out the presentation for more details HERE!
I want to thank everyone for their hard work and selfless efforts to keep the MWC mission alive during what is probably the most difficult year any of us will face in our lives. There are lots of plans for action in 2021 once we can begin meeting face-to-face again. I’m sure the transition will take time and some of our new behaviors may be permanent, but we have a lot to do. Stay tuned!
We are still seeking volunteers to help organize and run The 2021 Michigan Wine Competition. We must act soon for the competition to happen this year. Contact Emily Dockery, Gina Shay or me if you are interested in helping out.
COVID vaccinations are proceeding, albeit slowly. But we know they keep making more right here in Michigan so our turn will soon arrive. It will be a relief. In the meantime, we must all remain vigilant and don’t let our guard down. Let’s keep doing what we’ve been doing so we can stay open for good this time: #staysafestayopen!
We look forward to getting back on track with several projects in 2021. We hope you can join us. Please consider working on a committee, running for an open board seat or presenting a project you want to make happen.
Here’s wishing everyone a Happy and Healthy 2021!
