The Research and Winemaking webinar series is back! This series started in August 2020 and 7 topics related to winemaking were covered from cleaning and sanitation to bottling with the participation of industry and academic partners. This 90-minute webinar series will be offered once a month through Webex, as follows. (You will need to register to each individual session.) October 5th: Challenges of making and bottling sweet wines

It’s October and harvest is at its peak so my news will be short this month! The grapes look fantastic and the 2021 vintage is going to be awesome. While there has been rain in some areas, warm, dry conditions have returned, just what is needed to complete fruit ripening.
Life continues to get back to normal with fall crowds out in wine country and college football back!
Your Executive Committee is working on a session for the 2022 Northwest Orchard and Vineyard Show with our colleagues in the Grand Traverse area. The session will be focused on Marketing Michigan Wines so stay tuned as the program details come together.
Please consider running for a board seat or the Vice Presidency in our annual election in January. It is a wonderful opportunity to take a leadership role and help shape the future of our wine industry. Everyone has something important to contribute.
Cheers to a successful harvest!
